We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and creative thinker to join our international team in a constantly changing and developing start-up environment at our HQ in Stockholm. We are looking for a enthusiastic, motivated, and structured Jr Accountant to join our international team in a dynamic start-up environment at our HQ in Stockholm. As a Jr. Accountant you will take on an important role in the team by taking on the responsibility for everyday processes and workflows. Your prime focus areas will be accounts payable, accounts receivable and VAT, but there will also be additional tasks within accounting which means that this is a perfect opportunity to gain practical experience and develop within the field. The position is a full-time employment at our HQ in Stockholm.

By leveraging technology in their core business, Hem is cutting out the middlemen and making their sustainable state-of-the-art furniture, accessories, and lighting available to clients all around the world. With a diverse team of plus 30 people operating from Hem’s showrooms and studios in Stockholm, London, Los Angeles, and New York, our journey is just getting started.


Responsibilities:

  • Own the control and compliance of all Accounts Payable, including supplier database management, filing and setting up payments from/to our business system.
  • Customer database management, including correspondence with the Customer Relations team regarding payments and other accounting requests. Be responsible for all Accounts Receivable and aging list.
  • Day to day bank transaction updates and log the bank & other PSP transactions in our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Controlling, collecting, bookkeeping the team- and company business card expenses
  • Compile information for monthly VAT reporting in Europe
  • Support with current accounts and in the monthly closing process
  • Experience from working in a similar role is a merit

Qualifications and requirements:

To be considered for this role you need administrative skills, a high level of service orientation and are proficient in excel. You have ongoing/completed education at University level or similar, within relevant field.  Previous experience as financial assistant, experience from working in an international company, and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a merit.

As a person you are a fast learner with a “can-do attitude” who works with speed and accuracy. You are self-propelled, quality conscious and apply critical thinking as well as have respect for deadlines.
