Hem is looking for a Business Development Associate to join the team in New York City.  We are looking for motivated, creative thinkers who adapt to change and can handle collaborative work in a fast-growing startup environment. In the business development team you will be responsible for outreach to Hem’s clients in the design and architecture industries, ensuring they receive adequate attention and a fulfilling customer experience.


  • Reach out to customers who sign-up for business accounts on Hem Pro, onboard them and walk them through Hem Pro and the collection
  • Manage and administer our account requests from customers
  • Analyze incoming requests and distribute to team members accordingly
  • Compile sales quotes and orders for industry customers and coordinate sample requests
  • Understand customers’ needs and guide them during the online order process
  • Advise and influence our online B2B strategy
  • Interact with & host clients in the NY showroom 
  • Assist with BD events in the NY showroom

You’ll have:

  • Have 2 to 3 years of experience in a sales- and/or service-oriented role
  • Outstanding problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong passion for design and community and previous work experience in the field
  • Have excellent computer skills and a knack for learning new business systems and various administrative tasks
  • A desire to grow within the company
